Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Location: Corby, NN18

Rate of pay: Unqualified £8.72; Qualified £9.10 + Additional £30 per sleep in (min 1 per week)

Hours of contract: 40 hours per week

Shift pattern: 7am-3pm / 3pm-10:30pm. One weekend on and one weekend off.

Social Care & Education are looking for hard-working and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our client’s brand new friendly children’s home based in Corby NN18.

As a Residential Support Worker your main duties may include:

·You will be part of a team of carers supporting up to two residential young people with Severe and Complex Needs with Disorders.

·You will be involved in the delivery of agreed care and learning plans; lead and support a variety of leisure activities, including trips out into the community, planned as appropriate for the individual young person.

·You will be required to accompany young people with a staff group to holiday locations and Short Break Accommodation provided by our client.

·If you hold a full UK driving license, there is an expectation that as part of your duties and responsibilities you will transport the young people in the company vehicles.

·The post will also involve working in the on-site facilities

·supporting the young person in preparing for and attending educational and daily living skills tasks.

As a Residential Support Worker, we would like it if you:

·Understand the needs and rights of young people with complex needs.

·Demonstrate an understanding of the behaviours and the learning difficulties associated with Young People.

·Be able to support the young people with domestic duties.

·Be patient, resourceful and level-headed in coping with challenging behaviours.

·Effective communication skills; written and verbal.

·Be able to liaise with relatives, colleagues, professionals, and other external agencies.

·Be able to work cooperatively within a team.

As a Residential Support Worker, we would like it if had experience with:

·Residential setting is essential.

·Working with young people with complex needs is desirable.

·Have full and verifiable employment or student history that shows consistency.

·Full training will be completed within the company.

All staff prior to appointment must be cleared through the Disclosure & Barring Service (enhanced). All appointments are made subject to two satisfactory professional references. All applicants must be 21 or over.
