Immediate Start Nights | From £11.50 to £12.00 per hour

Are you looking to develop your experience within the care sector? Social Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker who has an interest in working in complex care. We are supporting our client to find a fantastic permanent night support worker who he can build a trusting relationship with.

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Shift Type: Permanent night shifts, 36 hours per week

Your Role as a Support Worker:
•    Able to help with all aspects of personal care, bowel and catheter care
•    Join in with playing on the PlayStation with the client as he is a keen gamer 
•    Have an interest in sports, current news and music
•    Support with shopping, housework including cleaning and laundry
•    Meal preparation, our client may come into the kitchen with you and explain how he likes his meals made. 
•    Support with light gardening duties, including feeding fish in the pond.
•    Supporting with administering medication
•    React quickly to emergency situations in a calm manor, this may include hospital visits.
•    Have knowledge working with someone with a spinal cord Injury and Dysreflexia
•    Hosting experience 
•    Emotional support, either at home and/or in their local community
•    Assist with budgeting
•    Building/maintaining relationship with friends and family
•    Going out for walks, meals and other activities that supported individuals may want to experience

Requirements
•    Supporting a client with a spinal cord injury on a 1:1 basis
•    Must have a UK manual driving licence
•    At least 2 years’ experience working in the care sector in the UK
•    Good level of written and spoken English
•    Able to work quickly and effectively in an emergency
•    Complex care experience (desirable
