Senior Children Support Worker- Gloucester

Social Care & Education are recruiting an experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker for a permanent position within a children's residential home in Matson, Gloucester.

We are looking for a confident, dedicated and compassionate individual with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in children's residential care.

The successful candidate must hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and have a full UK driving licence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Support Worker looking to progress their career or an existing Senior Support Worker seeking a new opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting.
Lead by example and support other Residential Support Workers.
Support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
Promote independence, positive relationships and essential life skills.
Assist with care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
Maintain accurate daily records and documentation.
Support young people with education, appointments and community activities.
Work closely with management to ensure a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience working in a children's residential home.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification – essential.
Full UK driving licence – essential.
Experience supporting children with EBD and challenging behaviours.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations.
Ability to support, mentor and guide other team members.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-ins.
