Mental Health Support Worker - Chesterfield

Derbyshire £12.80 / Hour

We are looking for an experienced and committed Adult Mental Health Support Worker to join our supported living service on a permanent, full-time basis.
You will support adults with mental health needs to live as independently as possible while promoting their dignity, choice, wellbeing and safety. We are looking for someone who is confident working within a supported living environment and can provide person-centred support to individuals who may present with complex or challenging behaviors.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
Hold a full UK driving license and be confident driving as part of the role
Have current PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training
Have previous experience supporting adults with mental health needs
Be looking for permanent, full-time employment
Be available to work 40 hours per week, including shifts as required
Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Understand safeguarding, confidentiality, professional boundaries and person-centred care
Key Responsibilities
Providing practical and emotional support to adults with mental health needs
Supporting individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills
Assisting with appointments, activities and access to the community
Supporting individuals in line with their care and support plans
Promoting choice, independence, dignity and positive risk-taking
Recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in behavior or mental wellbeing
Using approved PMVA/CPI techniques where necessary and in accordance with training and policy
Completing accurate daily notes, incident reports and other required documentation
Working closely with colleagues and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support
Following safeguarding, health and safety and medication procedures.
