Night Young Adult Support Worker - Preston

Lancashire £15.00 / Hour

We’re currently recruiting experienced and passionate Support Workers to join our team supporting young adults and children.

THE ROLE

As a Young Adult Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people as they transition towards greater independence.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting young adults aged 16–18 or with children in a residential childrens home
• Providing person-centred care and support tailored to each individual’s needs
• Promoting independence and encouraging young people to develop practical life skills
• Supporting with daily routines, activities and community engagement
• Administering medication safely and accurately
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and support plans
• Building positive, professional relationships with the young people you support
• Recognising changes in behaviour or presentation and reporting concerns appropriately
• Maintaining accurate and professional records
• Working confidently as part of a team and, where required, independently on lone shifts
• Promoting a safe, supportive and positive environment

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for reliable, caring and motivated Support Workers who can demonstrate:

• At least 3 months’ experience supporting young adults in the UK
• Previous experience working with young people aged 16–18 or children is highly desirable
• Competence and confidence in medication administration
• Strong communication, interpersonal and observational skills
• Confidence working independently, including lone-working environments
• A professional and responsible approach to safeguarding
• An Enhanced DBS, preferably registered on the Update Service
